According to sources, only 300 guests will witness this event at Victoria Island.

70 years after she was told her child died in labour, mother and daughter re-unite

For nearly 70 years, an American woman Genevieve Purinton believed the baby she gave birth to in Indiana had died in the hospital.

However on Monday, 3rd December, she met that baby girl, now a 69-year-old woman named Connie Moultroup.
“Because she was an unmarried mother, she was told that I had died. She continued with her life not knowing I was still alive” Moultroup said.

Moultroup, who was adopted and raised in California, decided last year to use a DNA ancestry test to look for her birth mother. The two finally met in Tampa on Monday. “It was just a crying fest,” she said.

ASUU strike to continue as meeting with FG ends in deadlock

The lingering strike action by the
Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU will continue as the meeting between the leadership of the academic union and the Federal government ended in a deadlock today December 4th. The meeting which held at the Minister of Education , Adamu Adamu 's office, failed to see both parties reach an agreement.

The Union began their strike action on November 5th to demand better funding for universities and alleged plans by the Federal government to increase student fees.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, ASUU president Biodun Ogunyemi, said

''We have been meeting but we are yet to reach any concrete decision''.
