Report of two people dying after attending the birthday party of Ambassador Oguntade which I also attended is a rumour - Dele Momodu

Nigerian media personality, Dele Momodu has reacted to report of two people dying after attending the 80th birthday party of the Nigerian High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, Justice George Oguntade on March 10, 2020.

Punch had reported that some prominent Nigerians including billionaire industrialist Chief Razak Akanni Okoya and his wife Shade, Chief Olusegun Osoba, a Nigerian journalist and politician, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun and his wife, Bamidele; a veteran musician, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi; a popular businesswoman, Bola Shagaya and others who attended the birthday party went into self-isolation for coronavirus upon returning to Nigeria.

The report also stated that Chief Osoba who confirmed that two people died after attending the party, insisted that unnecessary alarm was being raised.

However reacting to the report, Dele Momodu stated that the claim that trailed the birthday party he attended with other prominent Nigerians in the UK are all rumours. He also revealed that only one name 'Mr Rotimi Adigun' has been mentioned repeatedly with his picture, but no member of his family has confirmed his death.

He disclosed that has been waiting patiently for the name of the second man who purportedly died and his picture. Momodu added that he is not in isolation as he attended the birthday party in London 16 days ago.

He wrote;

I have just read the story in Punch newspaper that two people died after Justice George Oguntade's 80th birthday celebration in London. It remains a rumour. Only one name Mr ROTIMI ADIGUN has been mentioned repeatedly with his picture. And no member of his family has come out to say what killed him officially. I have waited patiently for the name of the second man who purportedly died and his picture like they did for Mr Adigun and also the autopsy result, so that I can personally commiserate with his family.
These are weighty stories and I can feel the pains of members of the families when the dead is/are not allowed to rest in peace as a result of some raging satanic rumours.
I even read someone today who claimed to have spoken to the late Mr Adigun's wife. But the same person said the party took place on March 14, 2020. But it was on March 10. I know because I attended.
I'm not in isolation because I attended a party in London 16 days ago. I'm in isolation because I respect the appeal from the Lagos State government for everyone to stay at home because it is the proper thing for all of us to do at this dangerous moment, whether you ever travelled or not. And I plan to make the best use of this unprecedented holiday...
Best wishes to you all.

LIB reported earlier that Shade Okoya, wife of billionaire industrialist Chief Razak Akanni Okoya also debunked the claim. She stated that none of the guests have shown symptoms of coronavirus upon their return from the birthday party in the UK.

Man who filmed himself licking a toilet bowl in the "coronavirus challenge" is now sick in hospital with the deadly disease

A man who filmed himself licking a toilet bowl while taking part in the "coronavirus challenge" is now reportedly ill in hospital with the deadly disease.

In a video posted on TikTok, the man can be seen placing his mouth around the toilet bowl and extending his tongue to lick it.

The man who chose to take part in the challenge is now sick in the hospital, according to Piers Morgan on GMB.

Piers said: "You may remember also the other idiot, this is also in America, as part of the coronavirus challenge some morons are doing, went into his local toilet cubicle and licked the bowl.

"I think this called karma - he's got coronavirus."

Piers also took to Twitter to ask why hospitals are treating the man after he intentionally put himself in harm's way.

He tweeted: "Why is this moron getting treated? He should be in jail, not taking up a vital hospital bed."
The "coronavirus challenge" began after a TikTok influencer shared a clip of herself licking a toilet seat as someone says "it's corona time".

She told Metro: "I was tired of that b***h corona getting more publicity than ME. I’m the real celebrity."

She added that health experts "can suck it" and claimed, "I'm fine".

She went on to say if her actions lead to other people becoming ill with the deadly virus "that's their problem".
The so-called "coronavirus challenge" - which sees people share videos online of themselves licking objects in public places - has been slammed as "highly irresponsible" by health experts.

In one video, a man licks a pole on public transport to the disgust of another who moves away, while another video sees a man - whose Twitter account has now been suspended - licking a public toilet seat.
Metro reports TikTok has confirmed it will remove all challenge content from the site - though a trio of clips from Britain showing a man licking a car door handle, scooter and other surfaces was still live on Tuesday night.
NHS England has also expressed outrage at the behaviour, with medical director of primary care Nikki Kanani calling it "highly irresponsible" and the challenge "pointless".

"Our NHS staff are working round the clock to prepare to treat those who need it during the peak of the pandemic – the last thing they need is internet trends unnecessarily putting people in hospital," she added.
