Hotel heiress Paris Hilton got a $2 million engagement ring from her actor boyfriend, Chris Zylka. The couple began dating late last year.

The 36 year old who has dated quite a number of guys gushed on social media that she is the 'luckiest' and 'happiest' girl in the world to have finally found 'the one.'

The ring Chris presented is a pear-shaped 20-carat diamond, set on a platinum split shank halo band which boasts another two carats of smaller diamonds, according to People Magazine.

According to People, Jeweler Michael Greene and his team designed the ring in two days, a process which normally takes several weeks.
'Paris was not involved. Chris did it all,' Greene told People, explaining that Chris wanted it ready before Aspen. When the actor came to pick up the ring, Greene recalled: '[He] opened up the box he literally started shaking. He said, "I can’t stop shaking.".

Greene added: 'He told me he had to set up a time to meet up with Paris’ father to ask for her hand in marriage. He did the whole thing. All the traditions.'

Angry youths of Iropora in Ekiti state beat up a police officer for allegedly shooting an unarmed youth in the community.

According to the reports by EkitiDefender, the policeman from Igede police station shot one Mr Ayo Oluwasusi which led to the mob action by the angry youths.

Sad News New Year fireworks kill two people in Germany

Police in Germany says that fireworks left two people dead, a child injured and five people requiring amputations during New Year celebrations in the country.

A 35-year-old man and a 19-year-old died when fireworks went off in their faces in the eastern state of Brandenburg, regional police said on Twitter.  A firework thrown by a group of youths also left an 11-year-old boy with severe facial injuries in the same region.

Media describes the firework as a “Polish rocket” sold on the Polish border and which typically contains more explosive than those which retail in Germany. In Berlin, five people had hands or fingers amputated after suffering severe injuries with fireworks leaving 21 people hurt overall in the capital, according to hospital officials.

Firework-related accidents, fires and assorted injuries are a regular feature of New Year celebrations in Germany.

Comedian, McAbbey and wife, welcome a baby girl

Comedian McAbbey and his wife, Jumie, have welcomed their third child, a girl. The couple who recently celebrated their 10th year anniversary, welcomed their new daughter today, December 31st.
"Join me to praise God ooo he is faithful. Finally my daughter arrived to crown my year with joy and start a new year with favour and good news. Praise God mother and baby are FINE" the excited new dad wrote on IG
