Access bank reacts to viral video of one of their ATMs in UNILAG that displayed pornographic content
A video showing a tablet at Access bank ATM gallery inside the University of Lagos UNILAG campus that was displaying pornographic content on its screen, went viral yesterday.
Access bank has now released a statement reacting to the incident. According to the bank, one of its customers used the in-house tablets at the ATM gallery to watch porn. Read the statement below
Our attention has been drawn to an obscene video being circulated on different social media platforms purportedly
recorded on one of our in-branch mobile tablets at the Access Bank Unilag Branch. Please be informed that these tablets were placed there to enhance customer experience in the banking halls, as customers can walk over to any of these tabs to transact online. We think it is dishonorable for users of our in-branch tablets to visit inappropriate sites using any of the Bank’s platforms. We regret any inconvenience this would have caused to customers that would have come in contact with the video. We are working on measures to prevent a future re-occurrence. Thank you for being our eyes and ears .

FG will soon send Bill against hate speech to National Assemly- Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau, says
The Federal Government says a new bill that would help curtail the menace of hate speech in the country will soon be sent to the National Assembly. Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau, who disclosed this yesterday when he met with APC leaders in Abuja, said the bill which is being initiated by the Ministry of Interior would soon be presented to the National Assembly by the office of the Justice Minister and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
According to Dambazzau, severe punishment awaits any person found guilty of propagating hate speech in Nigeria.
"Hate speech should not be allowed in this country. Everybody is entitled to belong to his religion, the religion he believes in. Everybody is entitled to his faith. When we were born, we didn’t choose the tribe we want to belong to. That is how God brought us to the world. And there is absolutely no reason for hate speech or hating anybody whatsoever. So if the National Assembly passes that law, certainly anybody who is engaged in hate speech would be prosecuted in accordance with the law” he said
