Brazilian legend Ronaldo believes his namesake, C.Ronaldo will scoop the Balon d'or ahead of Lionel Messi

It is a debate that has divided football fans all
over the world. Who is the better player
between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi?
The pair have established a monopoly on the
balon d'or splitting the last nine awards
between themselves and the trend doesn't look
like it's going away anytime soon.
As always, the eternal rivals will go head to
head for football's highest individual award
thanks to stellar seasons with their respective
clubs.

Messi bagged 54 goals in all competitions but
could only help Barcelona to just the Copa Del
Rey.

Ronaldo notched up a relatively modest 40
goals in all competitions but they have come
when Real Madrid needed them most and
thanks to him, they're league champions and
will play in the champions league final come
June 3.

Brazilian soccer legend, Ronaldo De Lima has
voiced his admiration for both players but
believes Ronaldo is in pole position to claim his
fifth balon d'or and pull level with Messi. He
said: “This year, I would choose Cristiano
Ronaldo as the winner of the Ballon D’or.

“For the last two years, he has been
decisive. He was key in so many
matches in the Champions League, he’s
in the final. Cristiano’s numbers can’t be
ignored.”

“Both of them are fantastic. “I love
Messi with the ball at his feet, he scores
goals and does all the rest too. But
Cristiano’s numbers can’t be ignored.
“It’s a cruel comparison. Both of them
deserve respect.”

Nigerians can now own houses with N30,000 - Yemi Osinbajo

Acting president, Yemi Osibanjo has revealed
that under the N100 billion social housing
scheme of the present administration anyone
who can afford N30,000 will be able to own a
house.

This he made known while speaking at the
Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja
on Monday May 29th at an event tagged "A
Smile for Every Nigerian" organised to
commemorate the administration's second
anniversary.

He said; "This is 100bn set aside for the Family
Home Fund our Social Housing Project. The
100b is a yearly contribution to our N1trn
Social Housing Fund, the largest in the history
of the country. The World Bank and the African
Development Bank are contributors to the
Fund. From this Fund, developers will borrow
80% of the cost of project and counter fund
with their own 20%.

Speaking further he said; "The same fund will
enable us to provide inexpensive mortgages for
hundreds of thousands across the country who
want to own homes. Anyone who can afford
N30,000 will be able to buy a home under our
new social housing fund scheme. Already, the
project has started in 11 states. We expect that
this family housing fund will jump start and
expand construction exponentially across the
country."

British driver mounts pavement and deliberately smashes into pedestrians including 7-weeks-old infant in Marbella

Several people were injured with one presently
unconscious after a British man mounted a
pavement near Puerto Banus's Ocean Club in
Marbella, Spain and deliberately ploughed into
pedestrians at about 9 p.m. last night.
The British man had been asked to leave the
Ocean club, which was hosting its annual
champagne party, following a fight. So in anger,
the drunk man got into his 4×4 Audi SQ7 and
sped onto the pavement, mowing down victims
as pedestrians ran off, screaming in horror.

The driver did not stop after mowing down
people but sped off, leading to a police chase,
complete with sirens blaring. The chase ended
when the man’s car smashed into several
vehicles near Marbella's famous Golden Mile, a
venue popular with celebrities. The Brit driver, in
his late 20s, was arrested at the scene as well
as the passenger.

Six people and the driver have been taken to
Marbella's Costa del Sol hospital and one is
unconscious. A seven-week-old baby was
among those injured in the terrifying hit-and-
run.

Officers confirmed they have arrested two Brits
over last night's horrific scenes. The driver was
initially described as a 22-year-old, although
sources close to the investigation said today he
was born in 1990 making him 26 or 27 years
old.

The well-informed source said to DailyMail: “A
passenger in the car has also been arrested. He
is being held at a police station in Marbella near
Puerto Banus in connection with last night's
incidents. The driver is at Marbella's Costa del
Sol Hospital. Both men are British.”

There were initial fears that the incident was
terror-related but police ruled that out and said
the driver had been drunk.
